Justice Middleton served as a Justice of the Federal Court of Australia for 16 years before retiring from the bench in December 2022. His other appointments include Deputy President and President of the Australian Competition Tribunal, Presidential Member of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, and part-time Commissioner of the Australian Law Reform Commission. Justice Middleton currently serves as the judge-in-residence at Melbourne Law School and as a senior advisor at DLA Piper, where he advises on strategic litigation and class action advice.
