SATLA x HASS: Law, Language and Data Science

Join SATLA for a lunchtime coding workshop on Thursday, 10th August, from 1 pm to 3 pm! The workshop, led by the Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) Taskforce within the Melbourne Data Analytics Platform (MDAP), will introduce JD students to computational text processing approaches using Python, and demonstrate how digital tools can help analyse written texts.

In this workshop we will introduce common methods of Natural Language Processing (NLP) using the powerful but easy to use website Voyant-Tools.org. There will also be case studies from Law researchers who have worked with the Melbourne Data Analytics Platform (MDAP) on research projects with a strong NLP component.
